Super Bowl Sunday And Change

Today is Super Bowl Sunday.  The New England Patriots are playing the Philadelphia Eagles in Minneapolis Minnesota.  WOW.  Such a big game for both franchises.  One is trying to win its 6th Super Bowl and the other it’s first.  The contrast of the teams is so enormous.  One team has a backup quarterback playing while the other has “the greatest quarterback of all time” or GOAT for short.  Who is going to win?  While it means little to me, as I am a Dallas Cowboy fan, it is still very exciting from a personal development standpoint.

Both of the teams had players that made enormous changes in their lives to get to this point.  The examples are almost too many to note, but I will name a couple.  First of, we have to talk about Tom Brady.  He was the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft.  That means there were 198 other football players that were drafted ahead of him.  Now look at him…the GOAT…so awesome.  Brady made many changes to his daily life to keep his body and mind in shape.  He did not care what anyone else said or did.  He just did what he felt he needed to do and he is the best and going for his 6th Super Bowl Trophy.  And his wife is no slouch as well, in fact, she makes more money than he does!!!!

So, lets talk about the Philly Eagles.  What a season they have had. Lets review their recent history.  Two years ago they won 2 games all season.  That is it.  The owner and general manager then buckled down and hired a good coach and then drafted Carson Wentz.  His first year they won 7 games, this year he was on his way to a MVP season when he got hurt in game 13 and was declared out for the rest of the year.  What are the Eagles going to do?  Well, the Eagles were prepared.  They had signed a Nick Foles in the off-season.  He was the starting quarterback for the Eagles a few years ago.  They inserted him into the starting lineup and then crafted a game plan that would suit his game. The result is him guiding the Eagles, to their second Super Bowl appearance.  Think of all the changes that the Eagles had to do to make this situation work.  All the players on the offensive side of the ball had to do a mind shift and get used to working with a new QB.  Every QB is different in the way they work the huddle, call the plays and guide the offense.  But the Eagles were determined to achieve their goals.

Its impressive to see people succeed despite such adversity.  So what is your Super Bowl?  How many of those have you won?  If you have none, then maybe you need to change….I am just saying.
